3D Printing Nerd

Daryl Ricketts is a forensic anthropologist and a professor of anthropology at Indiana University. He also 3d prints all sorts of awesome forensic models and specimen models for students.

I visited Bill from Punished Props the other day, and we did some tests on the best way to bond 3d printed parts. We tested glues and epoxy as well as friction welding and 3d pens! Testing was fun, and not incredibly scientific, HOWEVER, we came to some very interesting conclusions!

Lauren from Abuzz Designs is a great designer and up-and-coming awesome person in the 3d printing community! I had the chance to talk to her at MRRF about her insane gear table! Plus, I love being able to feature such an incredible maker!

A big thanks again to SeeMeCNC for hosting the Midwest RepRap Festival, and for donating some awesome printers for some awesome contests. The Rostock Max V3 is quite a 3d printer!

It was late, but the kids and I wanted to have a little fun for April Fools Day! Of course, if a voice controlled printer ever existed, I would DEFINITELY feature that on this channel 🙂

Bill from Punished Props is legendary when it comes to knowledge of glues and adhesives. Thankfully, he was up for helping repair my Mario coin block bank I’m going to use for my Fanmail Friday dollars! Once this Mario question block is fixed and painted, it’s going to be AWESOME!

Mara and Taylor from Matterhackers attended the Midwest RepRap Festival in Goshen, Indiana, and I got the chance to speak to Mara about what Matterhackers has been up to lately.

I found Daniel Noree at the Midwest RepRap Festival in Goshen, Indiana! We had a few minutes to chat, so I talked to him about 3dbenchy and the openrc project. Daniel is a great guy, and I highly suggest meeting him if you ever get the chance.

I talked to Zo at the Midwest RepRap Festival, though you know him better as JuicyMoose. This kid is a great up-and-coming maker and someone to be on the lookout for. I ask him what’s coming up on his youtube channel, and we get a special guest appearance from Josef Prusa!
