3D Printing Nerd

Thanks to Matterhackers, I was able to attend the Bay Area Maker Faire and have a chat with quite a few of the exhibitors – including the E-Nabling The Future organization. I learned a lot about what they do and why they are doing it. Plus, I learned what they need and how to get involved!

Unfortunately, my first experience with an XYZ DaVinci Pro 1.0 3d printer wasn’t a good experience. Plus, in my opinion, it suffered failures way before it made it’s way to my house.

Bill Doran, from Punished Props, stopped by to show me how to properly finish my 3d printed Harry Potter Elder Wands. It took a lot of sanding, priming, painting, and weathering!

3DKitBash has an amazing selection of fantastic models that are all 3d printable. I LOVE their Mega Ghost, and have printed it normal size before. I have a gMax printer, I think it’s time I print it BIG. However, what do I need to take into consideration when sizing up the model?
