Bill from Punished Props stopped by to help build an enclosure for the Creality CR10 3D Printer. We wanted to print a large ABS print, but with the open design, we first needed an enclosure to keep the heat in and the ambient temperature consistent.

The Make Something channel created a wonderful hexagon wine rack uses wood and various shop tools. I wanted to see if I could produce a similar thing using 3d design and 3d printing. I enlisted 9 different 3d printers, and Fusion 360, and got to work.

The CR-10 is arguably one of the best deals in 3d printing, and this upgrade enables you to print more materials, letting the hot end get to 300c and above. The upgrade also includes a plated nozzle, so you can print abrassive filaments without worry.

Gearbest sent over the CR-10 Enlarged (Also known as the CR-10S4) for me to evaluate and use in some projects. Over it’s smaller cousin, it boasts a larger build volume, dual Z leadscrews, and a filament sensor. What’s it like to get out of the box? Here we go!

3DBrooklyn sent over some of their Refil, a recycled PET filament, for me to try out and review. I used my Creality Cr-10 and printed a number of things. How well did it do?

Polymaker asked if I could test their Polymaker Polymax PLA on the Cr-10 since they heard from someone it didn’t work. I used the Uncle Jessey Simplify3D profile and printed some models. Did it work? Watch to find out.
