3D Printing Nerd

It’s been 2.5 years since I was last at Printed Solid. I was invited back to talk about Makerbox – a monthly filament sample box! I get to make a box, and I talk to Matthew Gorton about the whats and whys of the Makerbox!

While at Printed Solid, I spoke to David Randolph about 3d printer enclosures. They sell a number of enclosures, and even white label their enclosures for other resellers. Knowing I tried to build one myself with Bill Doran, I asked Dave to give me his five best tips for building one!

My travel schedule has been crazy lately, but we have been working hard to film some fun and inspiring content! Plus, I have some updates on the OpenRC build and from the Simplify3D profile download problem.

Simplify3D just released their latest version, but a bug from versions prior still persists, and some users are unable to use a feature of the software.

Editor Sean is a HUGE Power Rangers fan. HUGE. While he was in Seattle, after an evening of pizza and rum, we decided to 3d print the Power Rangers blaster. How did it go? I’d say it went well 🙂

I hung out with Bill Doran of Punished Props Academy and learned 3 cool ways I can further finish my 3d prints! Also, BETTER AUDIO!

Scooters are HUGE right now! Everyone with their scooter tricks, pro scooter gear, even hugely popular scooter channels! My son asked if I could 3d print a scooter wheel for him. Are they the fastest scooter wheels? The lightest scooter wheels? The best scooter wheels? I don’t know, LETS FIND OUT!

I love Cura, and when paired with the Ultimaker printers, it’s a beast. Yes, like all software, it’s not perfect, but I think it’s a great representation of iterative development and adding needed features on frequent updates.

I LOVE Doctor Who! Jodie Whittaker as the latest Doctor is AMAZING! One of my all time favorite Doctor Who monsters, OTHER than the Weeping Angels, is the Daleks! Finally, I get to 3d print one!
