The DEXTER robotic arm from Haddington Dynamics is a 7 axis, mostly 3d printed, tool changer, open source, fpga controlled, work of art. The precision that DEXTER can attain is amazing to watch in person. I spoke with James at CES 2020 about DEXTER HDI and what this wonderful piece of tech could do.

Vision Miner specializes in HIGH TEMP INDUSTRIAL 3d printing using PEEK, ULTEM, and others. These materials require extreme heat to print, AND, extreme heat to dry and remove moisture. However, they have the process down, which is why NASA chose them to 3d print parts for their SPACE SUITS.

The Tesla Cybertruck is loved AND hated by many all over the world. Elon’s truck window famously cracked under pressure, and The Hacksmith has their half-scale version. I wanted my own, so I 3d printed it! Let’s assemble it AND test the window 🙂

CFPEEK is an amazing engineering grade material to 3d print with. Unfortunately, it comes with it’s own engineering grade headaches. A clog / jam in the heat break with CFPEEK means you need to bring out some fire to clear it.

I love practical printing, and 3d printing parts to fix things around the house is AWESOME. My tripod leg extensions never really worked right, and thanks to someone in the community, new ones were printed and WOW DO THEY WORK!!
