While in New York for World Maker Faire, I got to stop by the gCreate shop to visit Gordon and Anna and see the process for putting together a gMax 1.5XT+. They are based in Brooklyn, and are able to produce quite a lot with a smaller space!

Touring the SeeMeCNC 3D Printer Manufacturer Facility
I’m visiting the SeeMeCNC shop before road tripping with them to New York Maker Faire at the Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows. While there, we had a few minutes to kill, so JJ held the camera and we did a shop tour. It was tough, as I had to learn everything and them remember it for a single take run through. I think I did okay.

3D Printing Pokemon & Repairing with Toothpicks!
First off, Rylee wanted me to make sure I told you she had a little bit of a cold when we filmed this. She LOVES Glaceon, as it IS her favorite of the Eevee evolutions. I had the settings wrong in Simplify3D, and the raft came out wonky. It failed under one of the legs, and the leg fell over during printing. We let the print go, and fixed the broken leg using toothpicks!

Fusion 360 Tutorial to Create a Maker Coin for 3D Printing
I’ve always wanted to learn CAD and I’m starting with Fusion 360. Bill Doran from Punished Props gave me a quick tutorial on how to do certain things, and I used that knowledge to make a “Maker Coin” like the one Angus made for me! This is great software and I cannot wait to model more things for 3d printing!

3D Printing 101: What Is a Wipe Wall or Ooze Shield?
When 3d printing with a dual extrusion capable printer, the chance are you are printing with either two different colors or two different types of materials. In both cases, you should look into using an “Ooze Shield”. The wall will protect your model from getting color bleed!
