Materials Solutions, a Siemens UK business in Worcester, UK, invited me and a few others out for a press tour of the facility. We got to hear about how they operate, tour the floor where they had multiple MILLION DOLLAR+ 3d printers (Renishaw RenAM 500Q, EOS M290), and then I got to run around with my camera a bit 🙂

Having dry filament for 3d printing is very important when you want high quality extrusions. Filaments like nylon, petg and tpu are very hygroscopic and absorb moisture from the air. Using a food dehydrator is a GREAT way to dry your filaments!

The OpenRC F1 fully 3d printed remote controlled car is a project by Daniel Noree. The idea is to print all the pieces needed for the car, then add electronics, to have yourself a custom built rc car. I took it a step further and printed everything at 4x scale!
