Can You Fix a 3D Printer with FIRE?

3D Printing Nerd·Aug 22, 2015

My 3D printer broke down because of a nasty failed print. I had hardened PLA plastic all over the hot end. It was deep. I attempted to preheat to pull it off and that didn't work. All it did was make smoke (bad!). I then tried a hair dryer on HOT, and that didn't do the trick. Finally, I resorted to a blow torch. NOW WE ARE TALKING. Yes, this video is long. Yes, I could have cut it down. Yes, I'm not smart. Yes, I should have done something else. Yeah, I get it. I'm not smart. The day was INCREDIBLY frustrating. Taking a blow torch to the part of my 3D printer that broke because of a failed print was immensely cathartic :) Affiliate Links: == Patreon: http://3d.pn/patreon == 3D Printing Nerd shirt! http://3d.pn/shirt == Printed Solid: http://3d.pn/printedsolid == Matterhackers: http://3d.pn/matterhackers
